Our Story
From Chinese Traditional Medicine brand to one of the largest wholesalers in Europe.
1999
As a wholesale, Chinaturel Import & Export started in a garage but outgrew the garage in no time. Within a year the previous owner had to move the a bigger warehouse.
2005
Chinaturel ha fondato l'attività come è conosciuta oggi e si trova nel suo attuale magazzino di 500 m2.
1995
Mr Chen Shaowu's children named the Chinese medicine brand "Shaowu" in honour of their father. The brand is based on TCM and developed in the spirit of "Integrity, Diligence, Creativity, and Health for all", hoping more people around the world can benefit from traditional Chinese medicine.
Over the past 20 years, we developed our core business to the need of the TCM market. Chinaturel kick started with Chinese Herbs and acupuncture needles, and later on added herbal supplements and extracts.
We are constantly focussed on improving our business and product range. Based on our experience we strictly work with suppliers offering high-quality products and we ensure premium service to all our customers.
The story behind the name
The Shaowu brand is proudly named after Mr. Chen Shaowu and developed in his spirit of Integrity, Diligence, Creativity, and Health for all.
1972
Participated in the medical aid team in Tibet and worked in the Ali area.
1965
Worked as International aid doctor in Tanzania.
1968
The attending physician at Guang'anmen Hospital of the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Head of the Scientific Research Office of the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
1963
Graduated and worked at The Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion.
1985
President of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Deputy Chief Physician.
1986
Dean and Secretary of the party committee of the Beijing Academy of Acupuncture and Orthopedics. Chairman of the 3rd World Federation of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Societies.
1991
Director of the China-Japan Friendship Hospital of the Ministry of Health. Member, Chief Physician and Professor of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee.
1993
Was given a special reward for his outstanding work and achievements.
1995
Was honoured with the 4th National Excellent Hospital President.
1998
Member of the 9th CPPCC National Committee. Awarded with the Medal for the Construction of the Capital Spiritual Civilisation.
